Whiter Than Snow

Happy day after Easter! My Savior lives!! I love Easter time. It's been such a fresh reminder of who my God is. Of how good He is. And how desperate I am for Him. My mama got me a book called "Whiter Than Snow" for Easter. My roommates had it laying around the dorm and I started flipping through it one day. I told my mom about it, and that brings me to now. I've only been through the first few pages but a section really caught my attention.. especially in this time of reflecting on the mercy of my Savior. The book is by Paul David Tripp and is only $12.99 (:

"I come to the Lord with only one appeal, his mercy. I've no other defense. I've no other standing. I've no other hope. I can't escape the reality of my biggest problem- me! So I appeal to the one thing in my life that's sure and will never fail. I appeal to the one thing that guaranteed not only my acceptance with God, but the hope of new beginnings and fresh starts. I appeal on the basis of the greatest gift I ever have or ever will be given. I leave the courtroom of my own defense, I come out of hiding, and I admit who I am. Switch

People say in college that you are supposed to be out all night partying with your friends. They say that it is fun and satisfying. And unfortunately it's the thing to do. But I've find my joy in ministry. Not in band parties or swaps. I'm most fulfilled when I am working for the Lord. Serving Him, worshipping Him, loving Him. This past year really couldn't have been any better. I am amazed at where the Lord has brought me. From high school til now. It's incredible. Church of the Highlands is home for me. I think in high school I always felt the most free at Switch, the youth movement. Here in Tuscaloosa, we have recently started Switch. With about twelve dedicated attenders, I couldn't be more excited! The Lord is there, students are being set free, and we are preparing to see an amazing move of God. It's where I find my joy. I look forward to Wednesday nights. To hanging out with these students. They bless me. Not only do I love Switch, I love the leadership meetings I am able to attend with Highlands and Unashamed. Growing in the Lord and learning how to be a leader for Christ has been absolutely incredible this year. I am humbled to think how willing the Lord is to use me and how sweet His plan has been. He really is good all the time. His plans are to prosper us, not to harm us. He is Savior, friend, daddy.

He won't relent

The Father wants all of us. Our greatness and devotion as well as our mistakes and imperfections. He is a father calling us home. He loves us. And all He wants to see is us running back to Him. And there He stands. Arms open wide. Waiting. For you. For me. For us. He won't relent. He wants more of us. He's paid for our sins on the cross. Our mistakes are washed clean. He wants to give us a new song. A new joy. He wants us to enter His presence. To sit up on His lap and learn. To grow in wisdom with Him. To have a heart of the Lord. To be His hands and feet. To be His best friend. He wants to restore us. To give us freedom. Just like a loving earthly father desires to give their child anything they want, when they devote themselves to them. Our Father in heaven desires the same thing. He wants our heart. He wants to bless us beyond our measure. But he desires to know us. We must draw near to him. And he will NEVER relent. Until he has it ALL. Give him all.
